Mickey Harris’ Monster Garage makes its debut at the reinvigorated PlungeFest as part of the MSP Polar Bear Plunge held on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011, at Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis, Md (www.plungemd.com). Forget boats, at this über-manly zone, internationally renowned airbrush artist Mickey Harris will custom-paint a 2011 Harley Davidson Street Glide, donated by Harley Davidson of Annapolis, and custom paint—and fully refurbish—a vintage 1938 Chevrolet pickup truck. Watch as Harris and his crew transform these vehicles into works of art.
Best of all: PlungeFest is completely FREE. So bring your family—there’s an area for everyone. The Polar Bear Plunge benefits Special Olympics Maryland. Attendees can stand on ramps and oversee the action up-close-and-personal in the garage. They can also put on headsets and listen in on the correspondence between Harris and the Straight Line Autobody crew as they work. Harris has earned worldwide acclaim for his paintings over the last 30 years and his most recent projects include the American Pride and Strength and Honor Camaros, both commissioned by GM, The Freedom Truck, the CNN Warrior One Hummer, and the Standing Proud Truck.
As if that wasn’t enough, approximately a dozen of the world’s finest cars, trucks and motorcycles – totaling well over a million dollars – will be on display in the garage – for motor enthusiasts and casual fans alike.
