Paul Walker, star of the massively successful Fast & Furious franchise, died in a double-fatal car accident Saturday evening in California while attending a benefit car show. Walker, who had recently celebrated his 40th birthday, was the passenger in his friends 2005 Porsche Carrera GT supercar, when the car left the roadway and plowed through a light pole and into a tree, eventually bursting into flames. Firefighters arrived to the fully engulfed car and found the 2 occupants already deceased.
Walker was quite the humanitarian and took several trips with his REACH OUT Worldwide organization to assist in disaster relief.
Paul Walker, who self-described himself on Instagram as, “[an] Outdoorsman, ocean addict, adrenaline junkie…and I do some acting on the side.” leaves behind a 15-year old daughter, Meadow.
Top Gear star Jeremy Clarkson has commented on the Porsche Carrera GT, “make a mistake – it bites your head off.” The Carrera GT has about 600HP in a 3,000 pound car.
