Owner: Robby Braddock
Age: 25
Location: California, Maryland
Year: 2004
Make: Ford
Model: Mustang Mach 1
MDSS: How did hear about MDSS?
MachMan: CustomX back in early '07
MDSS: When and why did you purchase the vehicle you have?
MachMan: February 6th 2004
MDSS: What kind of condition was it in?
MachMan: Brand spanking new
MDSS: Daily, Weekend, show, or race car?
MachMan: No, yes, yes and yes. Used to be my only car. Was my daily for 3 years.
MDSS: What modification on your vehicle to you like the most?
MachMan: The obvious answer would be the Paxton blower, but I also love the sound of the over all exhaust/cam combo
MDSS: What is the most expensive part on your car?
MachMan: The short block. It started off expensive as hell and I've only made it better over the years.
MDSS: What was the last modification you installed on your vehicle?
MachMan: Stage 2 Fuel Pressure Driver Module
MDSS: What has given you the most headache working on your car? (Part, experience, shop)
MachMan: Except for this year-breakages. I could write for hours about this stuff. Anyone who's known me for the past 5 years can tell you it's been an absolute nitemare. I have a love/hate relationship with the car. To try and summarize... 6 engines, 4 transmissions, 3 rear ends, 5 clutches just with one of those transmissions, totalled the car and piecing together my own blower kit made with paxton vortech and procharger pieces combined.
MDSS: How much of the work have you gotten your hands dirty with versus outsourcing to a shop?
MachMan: When the car was a manual, I changed my clutches, I installed the blower and did 3 or 4 of all the exhaust configurations I've had over the years. Just about all the bolt-on's I've done. I can take off just about anything from underneath the hood that doesn't require pulling the engine in no time now. The engine itself I have not messed with. Timing 4 cams isn't something I'm comfortable with.
MDSS: Are there any future plans for this vehicle?
MachMan: I'm not planning much for 2009. Just a new converter, switching to a better set of headers, some control arms, anti roll bar, k member, coil overs and a roll cage. Only looking for 9.50's. Just enough to get me consistent 9's no matter the track condition.
MDSS: How long have you been working on this vehicle?
MachMan: Since the day I bought it.
MDSS: Are you into the show or race scene? Or both?
MachMan: 90% race 10% show. I occassionally go to shows just as an excuse to clean the car. So far I've only gotten one trophy.
MDSS: Do have any sponsors?
MachMan: Nope. Although SGS is being really lenient with their costs since I'm a frequent customer and promote them informally.
MDSS: Are you a part of a local car crew?
MachMan: I'm a member on all kinds of forums, but I don't consider myself more loyal to any of them.
Shout outs: Everyone who voted for me. Obviously I couldn't have won without every single vote that I got. The only thing closer would have been a tie.
