Interview:
MDSS: How did hear about MDSS?
240alty: I actually heard it from my friend Jason
about 3 years ago and decided to join because they were
local guys on the forum with nice cars.
MDSS: When and why did you purchase the vehicle you
have?
240alty: I purchased the car in June of 2005. I
bought the car because I have always wanted to drift and
build a 240 of my taste. 240's have always been my
favorite car.
MDSS: What kind of condition was it in?
240alty: My buddy ben down in stafford, VA had
bought this car from an old lady and was going to build
it as a daily driver because it had zero rust, no
accidents. Then I bought it as a shell and in perfect
condition. Stock everything.
MDSS: Daily, Weekend, show, or race car?
240alty: Started off as a daily and drift race car.
Then I wrecked it a couple of times. So I fixed it and
now its pretty much a weekend car. I havent competed in
anything in a while so I hope to begin drifting it again
as I now have another car.
MDSS: What modification on your vehicle to you like the
most?
240alty: Probably the motor. I know its nothing
crazy but its an incredible platform to start and its
powerful and reliable. Nothing like turbo.
MDSS: What is the most expensive part on your car?
240alty: Well the motor was about $2,000 but the
coilovers were also the same price. those are the most
expensive parts.
MDSS: What was the last modification you installed on
your vehicle?
240alty: The last part I installed on my car was the
rear end. Weld loc.
MDSS: What has given you the most headache working on
your car? (Part, experience, shop)
240alty: The suspension parts. Always having to keep
everything adjusted correctly.
MDSS: How much of the work have you gotten your hands
dirty with versus outsourcing to a shop?
240alty: Every single part on the car was done by me
and my friends. Which whom I will mention in the shout
outs.
MDSS: Are there any future plans for this vehicle?
240alty: Well in this winter I plan on doing two big
upgrades. I am going to upgrade the turbo and 5 lug
conversion with new wheels. Thats pretty much it.
MDSS: How long have you been working on this vehicle?
240alty: Since I bought it in June of 2005.
MDSS: Are you into the show or race scene? Or both?
240alty: I am into the race scene. Show is fun but I
really don't think its for me. My car is no show car by
any means.
MDSS: Do have any sponsors?
240alty: Nope. I just stick with all my buddies
repping myself.
MDSS: Are you a part of a local car crew?
240alty: Yea I guess you could say that. We are
known as DTA. We are an Annapolis based crew.
Shout outs:
My shout outs are going to go to my closest friends that
have put their blood, sweat, and tears into this car as
much as I have myself. The friends who have helped me so
much on the car are: James, Jason, Dynell, and Jasons
father. They have put so much effort into this car to be
where it is now. Everytime I needed help they were
always there to show and guide me through it. If I had a
problem or I was frustrated they always managed to calm
me down and let me know everything would be straight.
Never can I thank them enough for all the help.
Thanks to all those who voted me as the ride of the
month.
