Didn't even know both of these organizations were still around. Was sad to see the Nopi drag series go and HIN just made it clear that unless you either knew someone or had a ridiculously modified show only car you had no chance of anything except wasting your time.

I know what you mean. HIN in DC a few years ago was pretty nice. But that is no longer the case... at least with this show/stop. A few things were unorganized and the quality of cars were bad as well as the quantity. The drifting and drag racing on Saturday were a joke... We didn't even bother staying for Sunday based on the lameness of Saturday.

I know some people who won at the 2009 Austin HIN who never received their payouts either....

From jadecrew.com

A rainy weekend in Englishtown, NJ was host to the HIN/NOPI car show this past weekend. At the shows end, car show participants were upset, and for a very good reason, because the NOPI-HIN staff tells them they will not be annoucing winners and they will just mail home the trophies. Really?!? With years of experience throwing events you figure this would not happen. Well the participants have spoken and the following videos says it all. Not a good start to a car show series when the country is craving quality events

^Wow.

I can't believe I missed this! Oh yeah, we left and didn't come back on Sunday. What a shitty-ass show.

It seems that Nopi/HIN's problem is a lack of communication with their staff and Englishtown's staff. Everytime we had a question and needed to get and answer it seemed like no one knew what was going on.

From Nopi/Hin website:
E-TOWN Car Show Awards went on despite the last minute storm:

With a suddon storm rollong in and bolowing off the side of the NOPI tent, the computers and judging forms had to quickly be stowed to protect them. This was around 3:30. The drenching rain continued for a while and we assumed most competitors had left so we announced we would have to post the winners and mail the awards. To our suprose a number of contestants remainded and wanted to finish the awares. So after discussing this with the contestants we decided to finish entering the scores and present the awards. This did take a little while as we we just in the score entering phase when the storm hit and we still had quite a few scores to enter.

Nonetheless, we got throught the awards and the winners are being posted ASAP.http://www.hinnopi.com/cs_dsp_newsart.php?vnid=19

Also, read the comments by FoxMarketing on the YouTube video page.

But on the other hand..

Today sucked.

Overall car show was a fail.

Today I got SOAKED while trying to help the guys at the tuning solutions booth hold their tent down that was trying to blow away in the storm wile i was trying to buy a scangauge...

And then for the car show...Well everyone drove up to the stage to wait for awards...5pm when they were supposed to hand them out rolls around, no awards, they start breaking down the stage, no awards, 6pm, they say that they should be ready around 8, I waited a little longer and said **** it, I wasnt gonna wait 3 hours to maybe win something, they said they would send out trophys but i doubt their gonna. There are alot of unhappy people with them though, next year doesnt look very good for them...even though this year pretty much sucked anyway IMO.

The cars that were racing today werent part of the show, they have open track to those kinds of cars on sunday.
